Chicago Bulls celebrated the retirement of their star player Derrick Rose with a special gift. And it was our custom-made varsity jacket! This moment not only marked the end of an era for the beloved NBA player. But it also highlighted his amazing journey in Chicago Bulls and the world of basketball. We believe that no other gift could be better than our varsity jacket. After all, it’s made with the highest quality materials and features sports spirit in an unmatched way. Derrick Rose Received a Custom Varsity Made for his Retirement Ceremony!

Adidas Basketball celebrated the legendary career of Derrick Rose, and Varsity Made got a chance to design a custom jacket to honor him. We were given the mission, and we accomplished it – with pride! Our hooded red and white varsity jacket perfectly reflects his remarkable journey.

It’s the end of the Rose era and no ordinary gift could do justice to a tribute. Undoubtedly, our varsity jacket perfectly matched the glory of his basketball journey. Overall, it’s a heartfelt reminder of his legacy with the Chicago Bulls. It’s not just a tribute; it’s an excellent style statement too. You can see how cool his varsity jacket styling is, right? A Look at the Stellar Career of Derrick Rose!

Derrick Rose's basketball achievements are truly tremendous. In fact, he’s a true inspiration for aspiring players. One of his most notable achievements is his title of the NBA Most Valuable Player in 2011.  The same year, he earned the All-NBA First Team honors. He also bagged the Rookie of the Year award in 2009. Besides, he made three All-Star appearances and was selected to the All-Rookie First Team in 2009.

Fun Fact:
Derrick Rose was the youngest player to be named the Most Valuable Player in the history of the NBA. He was just 22 at that time. 

Despite facing significant injuries throughout his career, Rose always came back stronger. His journey from a young MVP to a respected veteran has left an indelible mark in the world of sports.

All You Need to Know About Derrick Rose’s Tributary Varsity Jacket!

The Derrick Rose varsity jacket designed by Varsity Made is not like any ordinary jacket.  In fact, it was personalized to pay respect to the remarkable basketball career he had. It serves as a symbol of his achievements and the love of his fans. Made with the finest quality materials and seamless stitching, this jacket is a masterpiece in itself. Here is a breakdown of all the elements that make it special:

• Jacket Design

We wanted the jacket to honor the glorious career of Rose in basketball. We went for red body, white sleeves, and a black hoodie - to match the iconicity of his basketball journey.  Also, the design and fit of the jacket perfectly match Rose's personality and style. It has the most popular varsity jacket design, is slightly oversized, and has a hood. These features give the jacket an athletic yet laid-back look. Here’s a further breakdown:

• Type of Design: We went with the classic varsity jacket design with the body and sleeves of different colors, and the trims complementing them.

• Jacket Fit: The Rose Varsity Jacket has a relaxed fit which is slightly oversized but not too baggy - ideal for layering and maintaining a sporty silhouette.

• Hood: To add a sporty touch and a layered effect to the jacket, we also added a black hood. 

• Closure: We added snap buttons to the jacket because they are easy to use and smoothly blend in the sporty style of the jacket.

• Color Scheme

The jacket features a bold red and white combination - the colors of Chicago bulls. This color choice made the jacket even more iconic and tributary. Here is how we used these colors for different elements:

• Body: The color of the body is red, showcasing Rose’s journey amazing with the Bulls.

• Sleeves: The white sleeves perfectly complement the primary red color of the jacket.

• Trims: The cuffs, collar, and waistband of this varsity jacket feature a black, white, and red striped design.

• Hood: The black hood totally goes with the overall color scheme of the jacket.

• Personalized Elements

What makes this jacket truly Derrick Rose-coded is the personalized design elements added to it. Each of these is related to his life as a basketball player. This is why it was a true souvenir of my professional journey. Mostly, we didn’t overdo it. Instead, we kept it minimal and elegant. Here are the design elements we added to customize the jacket:

• Left Chest: The word "Pooh," the nickname for Derrick Rose in white adds a heartfelt and signature touch. 

• Right Chest: This side has a white "Rose" encircling the letter "D". It symbolizes his name in the most unique and unforgettable way.

• Back: This part of the jacket has the phrase “Becoming a Rose” in large font size. This perfectly elaborates his career, personal story, growth, and end of his basketball era.

We have put dedication and keen thought into designing this jacket. This is because we really wanted it to be a heartfelt tribute to his legacy.

Paying Homage to the Rose Era of Basketball!

Varsity Made is more than honored to be a part of the celebration of Derrick Rose's incredible journey and contributions. The custom letterman jacket we designed for him is a powerful symbol of his legacy with the Chicago Bulls. Truly, it serves as a reminder of him being a fan favorite and an MVP. We chose the colors, design, fit, and patches of the jacket to represent his career in basketball and with the Bulls. We wanted this varsity jacket to be as iconic as the moments he’s gifted to fans during his career. Therefore, with each element, we’ve tried to capture the spirit of Derrick Rose in it.
